Netflix Shares its Top Viewers

Netflix has shared the list of movies and television shows that have garnered maximum number of views. The duration is over the period between October 2018 and September 2019.

What is surprising is that Netflix has never shared statistics officially. It was always the grapevine or numbers that got leaked that made the count for Netflix. This is indeed the very first that the streaming portal has put out the numbers.

The king of television shows for the past year is Stranger Things. The sci-fi show based in the eighties is indeed gripping and its numero uno position is justified. A record 64 million viewers have watched the show.

At No.2 is the Umbrella Academy that is based on superheroes and it is not just an everyday superhero show, and that’s probably the reason that it garnered 45 million views. Titans, another show similar to Umbrella Academy featuring Batman’s Robin and other superheroes does not make it to the top ten list. Having watched both the shows, I can affirm that both are interesting in their own sweet little ways.

Interesting inclusions include Money Heist, a Spanish show. Another Spanish show, High Seas, that made headlines misses out. For Indian viewers who are wondering why Sacred Games is not on the list, the viewership numbers is picked up globally and with Netflix still being a long distance relation to India, it indeed does not hit the high numbers any time soon.

In the movies category, Sandra Bullock starred movie Bird Box is the most watched movie with 80 million views.

Murder Mystery starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston is close behind at number two with 73 millions views. Although the movie, in my opinion was average, the views can probably be justified by the star cast.
